During the tour, the guide shares interesting facts about the city's founding, Portuguese influence, and Mindelo's role as the cradle of Cape Verdean culture.

🎨 Municipal Market & Local Crafts

We visit the traditional Municipal Market, where the aromas and colors of local products mingle with Cape Verdean crafts: African fabrics, wooden pieces, jewelry, and handmade souvenirs.

🐟 Fish Market & Porto Grande Wharf

The walk continues to the bustling Fish Market, next to Porto Grande Wharf, where you can observe the daily lives of fishermen and the port activity that still drives the island's economy.

🏰 Replica of the Belém Tower – Museum of the Sea

A special stop is made at the replica of Lisbon's iconic Belém Tower, located on the waterfront. Currently, the building houses the Museum of the Sea, dedicated to the maritime history of Cape Verde, with exhibits on traditional fishing, navigation, and marine biodiversity.

(Entrance to the museum is optional and can be purchased during the tour.)

🎶 Casa da Morna & Cesária Évora

The tour also passes through Cesária Évora's former home and Casa da Morna, symbolic spaces of the island's musical identity. The guide shares stories about the life of the "barefoot diva" and the influence of morna on Cape Verde's cultural landscape.
